The short answer

What local SEO means in Round Rock

When someone in Round Rock searches for what you do, Google shows a map with three businesses and then a list of websites. Local SEO is the work of getting your business into both of those places for the searches that turn into jobs. That means your Google Business Profile, your website, your reviews and your listings on other sites all have to agree on who you are, what you do and where you do it.

Round Rock is a busy place to be found. You've got I-35 running through the middle of town, Dell's headquarters, the Dell Diamond, and a steady stream of Austin companies that list Round Rock as a service area whether they work here or not. So the map is crowded, and a lot of what shows up isn't actually local.

That's the good news for a business that really is here. Google says local results come down to relevance, distance and prominence. You can't change how far you are from the person searching. You can make it obvious to Google that you serve Round Rock, that you do the specific job they typed, and that real customers have said so in reviews.

I'm a one person shop in Leander. I've spent nine years designing software at Dell, Intuit, Walmart and EDO, and now I build websites and do local SEO for Central Texas businesses. When you call, you get me, and I'm the one doing the work.

What I work on

The Round Rock checklist

Every plan is scoped in writing before I start. These are the pieces I look at first for a Round Rock business.

  1. Google Business Profile

Categories that match the work you want, services listed by name, Round Rock in the service area, real photos and an owner who answers questions. I help with setup and verification if you don't have one yet.

  2. A Round Rock page

If you serve Round Rock but your site only talks about Austin or your home town, Google has to guess. One page written about the work you do here, in plain words, is usually the first fix.

  3. Reviews you can keep up

A simple way to ask happy customers for a review after a job, and help writing replies that sound like you. I don't buy reviews and I won't ask you to.

  4. Listings and directories

Your name, phone and address the same everywhere: BBB, Yelp, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect and the Round Rock Chamber directory if you're a member.

  5. Call and form tracking

A way to see which calls and form messages came from search, so the monthly note is about inquiries you can check, not a ranking chart.

  6. AI answers

I check whether ChatGPT and Google's AI answers name you for a few of your searches, and I write down the question, the date and the answer.

What I found

Round Rock searches, by the numbers

On September 30, 2026 I checked the map results for "roofing contractor Round Rock." All three businesses in the map pack had a dedicated Round Rock service page on their website, and they averaged 519 Google reviews. That's the bar in a competitive trade here.

Across the whole audit, 52 contractor websites and franchise location pages in five local towns, the franchises had a service and town page every time. Only 63% of the independent sites did. That gap is fixable, and it's usually the cheapest thing on the list.

Then there are the searches people use to find someone like me. Semrush estimates about 390 searches a month in the US for "round rock seo company" and about 210 for "seo company round rock," with lower difficulty scores than the Austin terms. I mention it because the same pattern shows up in most trades: the town plus the service is a smaller search with fewer serious competitors.

How it starts

The first month

  1. 01

    Free audit

I search your main services in Round Rock, save what comes up, and record a video walking through your site and Google listing.

  2. 02

    Written scope

You get a short list of what I'd fix, in order, with a price. Nothing starts until you say yes to the number.

  3. 03

    The fixes

Profile cleanup, the Round Rock page, listings and tracking. You approve anything that goes out under your name.

  4. 04

    Monthly note

A plain English note on what I did and what the call and form records show. No long report you won't read.

Plans and prices

What it costs

Every engagement starts with the free video audit. After that you've got four options, and the price is in writing before I start.

  • SEO foundation, from $1,200 one time. The technical and on page groundwork, profile cleanup and the pages you need to be clear about Round Rock.
  • Line Post, $750 a month. Listing support, review response help, agreed technical work and a monthly note.
  • Brace Post, $1,100 a month. Line Post plus page planning, content work and checks of whether AI answers name you.
  • Corner Post, $1,800 a month. More content work, directory and local link opportunities, a quarterly call and priority scheduling.

Plans cancel any month. I don't promise a number one spot, because nobody honest can. What I can promise is that you'll know what I did and you'll be able to check it.

If your website is the real problem, I'll say so. My Round Rock web design page covers what a new site costs, starting at $2,400 flat.

FAQ

Questions people ask me

How much does local SEO cost in Round Rock?

A one time SEO foundation starts at $1,200. Monthly plans are $750, $1,100 or $1,800 a month. The video audit that comes first is free, and you get the price in writing before anything starts.

How long before I see results?

It depends on your trade, your reviews and how much competition there is on the map. Profile and listing fixes can show up in weeks. New pages and reviews usually take a few months to settle. I'll tell you what I expect after the audit, and I won't promise a ranking.

Do I need a Round Rock address to show up in Round Rock?

No. A service area business can list Round Rock as a place it serves without a storefront there. Distance still counts, so a business based in Round Rock has an edge on searches made nearby. A clear Round Rock page and reviews from Round Rock customers help close that gap.

Will you work with my current website?

Usually, yes. If I can edit it, I'll work with it. If it's built in a way that fights every change, I'll tell you that in the audit and show you what a rebuild would cost so you can decide.

Do you lock me into a contract?

No. Plans cancel any month, and your Google profile, website and accounts stay in your name the whole time.

Why hire someone in Leander instead of an Austin agency?

I'm one person, so you talk to whoever does the work. I'm close enough to meet you in Round Rock for the first conversation, and I price everything flat before I start.

Get a number

Tell me what your Round Rock business does and which searches you want to show up for. I'll record a short video of what I see on your site and your Google listing, and send it back. No pitch deck and no obligation.

Prefer to talk? Tap Call at the top of any page and you get me, not a call center. Either way you're talking to the person who does the work.
